This is NOT a one-man (or
woman) show, so if there is
anything that you would like
to see accomplished this
year, please let me know.
No promises....but we can at
least work on it!
One thing that I'm tossing
around in my brain is a
sister (or brother...)
chapter teaming. Now
granted, we have an odd
number of chapters, and I
haven't quite figured that
problem out yet. Even if I
include UW-Whitewater & WIU
student chapters...I'm still
at an odd number. What I am
hoping, is that we can gain
some cohesiveness with
this. So that chapter
board's contact isn't
strictly regional directors
or an occasional visit/call
from one of us...but other
IMA board members who are
having the same issues. At
the national conference this
is the 2nd year for having
IMA mentors; teaming up
veteran conference attendees
with first timers. Last
year was EXCELLENT. I had
two mentees, and I found it
as rewarding as they did.
This year I have three
(Harlan has two plus a
mentor-in-training!), and I
hope that it is as
successful. I don't know
why we can't do something of
the same sort with our own
chapters and members.
In addition, I would like to
SOMEHOW reach out to the
Chicago Chapter members as
well as the At-Large
members. Whether it be an
educational opportunity
directed at them...or a
something else...I haven't
got a clue...just a
thought.
Let's have some
FUN!!!!! We NEED to
plan a FUN activity for
the council! Too many
times I think we're
stepping on toes (and
NOT meaning to!) or
trying NOT to step on
toes. Personally, my
greatest enjoyment of
IMA (chapter, council,
national) is the people
and the friends that
I've made. Any ideas???
